This week’s sketch is a mashup of two ongoing themes in CFSL – Fan Art (still on Poe this week) and weekly illustration (with Dinosaurs). So here is a mashup … in the style of Mike Mignola….. why not…
This week’s sketch gave me the occasion to rediscover the excellent album from Alan Parsons Project ‘Tales of Mystery and Imagination‘ with the impeccable narration of the introduction ‘A dream within a dream’ by Orson Welles. Good times….
Another practice sketch for Thursday Fan Art challenge at CFSL. This week, inspiration is from Game of Thrones. I thought it would be more challenging to create a picture of something that is not actually shown on screen.
Quick painting for a weekly fan-art challenge on French forum CFSL – this week’s theme is Superman. I thought I would try something else than the obvious 🙂
I was never really happy with neither of my versions of Eowyn’s battle with the Nazgul. The first one had a more dynamic pose for Eowyn but the beast pose was awkward, the second one had a good pose of the beast but Eowyn was too rigid. I also experimented with another composition in this sketch, but it didn’t evolve…
Three years later and still no decent painting… that had to change. This one started as a practice from this stock photo from Reine-Haru at DeviantArt and eventually ended up more polished than I was expecting. Not a finished product by far but not an exercise either… something in between.
About time… First painting in three years
Inspired by the creativity around me at the 2011 CFSL Workshop, I took some time off from demos and sessions and sketched this little scene on my iPad.
