One week in The Secret World
Since the first announcements, I was intrigued by The Secret World. The premisses, the multiple references to horror stories and the intention of breaking with the grind of MMOs made it very appealing. The fact it was Free to play didn’t hurt either. So I finally broke down and gave it a try.

My games backlog started accumulating a long time ago. 1997! Not as long as my backlog of books. Sadly, finding time to play games seems easier than reading books. Thrilled to find GOG – Good old games. www.gog.com/ Old games (and some not so old) packaged to work on recent OS.

Skyrim wishlist
Wishlist : – Better UI – Survival mods (eat, drink, sleep) with camping equipement (fire, bed, tent) – Fall when running backward – Wear more than one ring – Smarter wildlife and dragons (ignore you sometimes, always when too weak) – Visual effects for diseases and injuries – Immersive details (carriages on roads, wood transport, more merchants, more exotic loot)…

Mods saved my weekend
Issues with Steam and botched mods releases – Forced updates by default – Game not starting after first patch (fix by repairing cache) – Many issues in second patch Backups from dealing with mods made reverting to previous version very easy.

First batch of Skyrim mods
After less than a month, about a thousand mods already listed in TES Nexus. Mostly texture mods, some atmospheric changes and brave UI updates and first .esp plugins.
