Since I upgraded to an iPhone 4S in April, I had to sit back and observe how abysmal data transfer rates had become.<\/p>\n
The phone didn’t work at all on a trip to California. It barely worked (outside of wifi) after a shutdown when I returned. In addition to random ‘brain freezes’, the phone was frequently warm to the touch while trying to connect.<\/p>\n
A first visit to the AT&T store, followed by an appointment with an Apple Genius, didn’t do much to fix the issue, even after the recommended full restore.<\/p>\n
Six months later, it was time for another visit to the AT&T store… and surprise, the suggestion this time was to try a new SIM card. The exchange of cards was quick and painless and guess what? It seems to be working so far. The phone finally displays transfer rates worthy of 4G.<\/p>\n
