So here I was, ready to enjoy my brand new Intuos 5 graphic tablet (received as an early birthday present).<\/p>\n

It was unwrapped, software and drivers installed, plugged into my machine… and nothing.
\nNo LED light indicating activity. No cursor. And of course, no touchpad.<\/p>\n

A quick look under the system logs indicated errors with ‘being able to enumerate the USB device’. A ‘repair permissions’ later (from Disk Utility… always useful anyways), the problem was still happening.<\/p>\n

I was about to call it a night when I decided to try it on my laptop… and it worked! LEDs, pen, touchpad. The culprit was a faulty factory cable. Using another cable with my laptop made it work… and the same cable made it work as well on my desktop.<\/p>\n
